• Concrete benchtop: Concrete is regarded to be the most used material for the benchtop. They usually have much longer lifespan and sleek lines. They are usually available in a wide range of colors, designs and patterns It can be either rustic or can even be polished to have a shining proper finish. They are usually cut into the suitable shape and are delivered in the household. However, concrete benchtops sometimes reduce the porosity. • Corian benchtops: Corian is basically a brand of materials which is manufactured from a mix of acrylic resin and numerous natural minerals and is available in a wide range of colors. • Laminate benchtops: It is one of the most widely used and common types of benchtops available in the market. It can be easily found in the market. It is hard wearing, stain resistant and is the best choice when there is minimum time to buy since these laminate benchtops are pre-cut and the shape and size is usually pre-defined. The more custom the design and the shape, the greater would be the price.
• Natural stone benchtop: It is one of the most expensive options available for benchtops. Quality slab granite is one of the most preferable choices for its durability and low porosity. It usually does not stain with acidic liquids or food. The price of the slabs is highly dependent on the color, thickness, size and height of the kitchen, the choice of the stone, the location of the place, the installation cost and numerous other factors.
• Engineered stone benchtops: It is made from ground quartz or granite that is mixed with resin. It is made to look like a natural stone, however, it is much cheaper though less porous. It is available in numerous patterns which include several semi-precious stones and decorative glass.
• Stainless steel benchtops: Though it is not usually installed in domestic kitchens, it gives the best durability. However, stainless steel is prone to scratches.
