When the weather is blasting hot and humid outside, and you are travelling in your car, nothing seems to be better than turning on your car AC and getting emits cool and refreshing air. It can make you comfortable immediately and make it easier for you to travel. A Car Air Conditioning system works with a Thermodynamic process, which helps maintain the temperature within the vehicle. The inside temperature is changed by pressure. The process includes refrigerant change from gas to liquid, and then to gas, which makes the dissemination of cold air possible.  

Avoid Pre-Cooling

Your Car Air Conditioning system can work significantly better when you are driving actually, given that the faster the car engine turns, the quicker the compressor of the AC will run, and cool down the system much more effectively. Do not waste gas and time by running your car before you have already cooled the inside of your vehicle.

In case the car interior is very hot, crank the fan up when you begin to drive. Open only the windows at the back for 10 - 20 seconds. It can let the hot air from within the cabin get expelled out by force. Do not open the front windows. It will only move out the heat from the car’s front and keep the air in the cabin’s back stagnant and hot.

Go Low

In a standard car AC, the air gets cooled to a temperature of 38 degrees. Depending on the available space in your car, the car air conditioning needs to be operated accordingly. You should check the compressor, the condenser and the brand of the air conditioner and then operate it accordingly.

Turn Stop/Start Off

Do you have a newer vehicle with an auto start/stop system? In that case, turn it off to save some fuel. It can also prevent running of your Car Air Conditioning system compressor when the engine gets shut off. When the weather is very hot, you can find that there is very fast deficiency in cool air inside. This can happen particularly when you are in a long wait at a traffic signal, or in very congested roads with very slow movement of traffic.

Avoid recirculation

Turn the recirculation mode off, in case there are passengers in your car’s rear seat. Recirculation pulls air from the cabin’s front through the system. It keeps everyone in the front cool and comfortable but those in the back breathe in stale air and get heated up. The evaporator is located within the car body and the recirculation of air can make breathability a problem. Low-pressure refrigerant and compressor types can make the working of the air conditioning faster and there is no stale air also.

Ensure clean filters

You have to check from time to time whether the filters in your Car Air Conditioning system are clean. Optimal airflow can be prevented by a dirty filter. The filter is behind the glove compartment in many modern cars, and when you replace the filter yourself, you can save money in the process.

Use the Automatic Climate Control feature

In case there is an automatic climate control feature in your Car Air Conditioning system, you cannot cool off your vehicle faster simply by lowering the temperature. Most AC units automatically adjust the temperature and fan. Thus, you can simply set it and then forget it.
